mobarak ya dr.Hossam
you forgot to remind people that this only applies to the Paces exam in Egypt
I Have few Questions
How much time do you need to prepare for Paces? and how free you should be daily?
What is the main reason you failed the first trial?
do you think that books are mandatory for Paces or just clinical skills?

DEAR FRIEND,
ALL WHAT I SAID APPLIES ALSO TO THE PEOPLE GOING FOR PACES OUTSIDE EGYPT
4 MONTHSOF PREPARATION IF JUST AFTER YOUR WRITTEN EXAM,WITH GOOD CASES IN YOUR HOSPITAL ,WITH ONLINE COURSE , READING FOR 4 HOURS DAILY,THEN DR. RAMADAN COURSE I THINK WILL BE ENOUGH
I FAILED THE 1ST TIME MAINLY DUE TO DEFECT IN CARDIOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION, BECAUSE I DIDN'T DIAGNOSE THE CARDIOLOGY CASE.
I WISH YOU ALL GOOD LUCK

I don't agree wiz yu doctor zat Ramadan is a good doctor instruction. He is very poor in teaching. I don't advice people to go him.
But go to Dr Yahia Al Fikky.

I have no faith in egyptian courses anymore. Ramazan is very poor and most cases are fabricated. After sometime you begin to understand that they are trying to milk you of money, Ramazan and his gang (Soliman the patients provider & the patients themselves).
The funny thing is that they DO bring those cases in the exam!! But the Egyptian examiners and the egyptian exam is very powerful. It looks like they don't care if you know the case or the diagnosis or not. It's the manner with which you conduct your examination.
I just got this information from a senior Egyptian examiner today called Professor Amer Saad. He said: We are examining a doctor for a membership. It's not an ordinary exam for Masters!!! That's why MRCP is a special exam.
This advice I will enter next exam with it framed in my head.

I feel sympathy for you tanareef, the most important is that you put your hand on your mistakes to avoid them next and last time insha allah
but what's your next step, are you planning to take the exam outside egypt or you'll try another course?

| I will never try to take another exam in egypt. Ramazan was stupid to say it's an easy center. He just says that in order people come to Egypt and take courses with him and he gains money. But in reality, the UK examination centers are much easier and the success rate is much higher. 66% compared to Egypt 33%!!! Double the passing rate, can you believe this!

but what about the costs, did anyone calculate how much it cost for someone from egypt to take exam in the UK.
sorry if I mentined this but its mandatory and its the most important point, if the cash difference is not too big its a good idea or else...

| but remember that this pass rate is including local candidates in UK. Their pass rate for PACES is around 70 to 80 %. For asian and arab candidates from outside appearing in UK the pass rate is 25 to 30%. You end up appearing with unequals, in a totally unfamiliar country, spend 3 times the money and have less chance of passing. I strongly recommend candidates to try and appear in the country where they are working or in their native country.

| I don't know if examination in England is easier or better. All I know is people who came back from England have a better understanding about the requirements of the exam.

@ Dr Hossam Adeeb
I think you are overestimating Ramadan's lessons. It's true you need Dr Ramadan's lesson as an introduction to the clinical examination system and the methods followed by the Royal College. But then In my opinion it's all about your effort and clinical talent.
