IL - 1 is secreted by macrophages and monocytes.
It
*is endogenous pyrogen
*cytokines increase the expression of adhesion factors on endothelial cells to enable transmigration of leukocytes
*IL-1 enhances T cell-dependent antibody production through induction of CD40 ligand and OX40 on T cells.
