Steps is an approach used for assessment of risk factors of non-communicable disease. It is a thee prolonged approach comprising of the following:
Step 1 – Detailed history of the patient (e.g. h/o tobacco, alcohol, consumption, etc.) and clinical examination
Step2 – Anthropometric measurements, e.g. BMI, Waist circumference, waist hip ratio, etc.
Step 3 – Biochemical tests, e.g. Blood sugar, serum lipid profile, etc.
