The number of overweight children in developed countries is increasing. Some people think this is due to problems such as the growing number of fast food outlets. Others believe that parents are to blame for not looking after their children's health.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In today's mechanical world, everyone in the society, regardless of age have to keep up with the pace of life. During this process, people are undergoing a lot of changes in their food, eating and sleeping habits. As a result, obesity or overweight is developing from childhood. It is totally agreeable that, both fast food outlets as well as parents are responsible for overweight in their children.
Primarily, it is the parents responsibility to look after there children till they grow up to a stage where they can decide which good or bad for their health. One of the reasons that support this argument is, children doctors always suggest parents first, to get habituated to good food habits and to maintain regular timings for food intake. Then, they can advice their children of what to eat and what not? Because, in many cases children learn things by looking at their parents. Thus, it is acceptable that parents are to be blamed for their children health condition.
On the other hand, some believe that fast food outlets are responsible for overweight in their children. One of the examples that provides evidence for this argument is, in most of the developing countries people are not having enough time to prepare food for themselves and their children and this is due to their hectic schedules. Consequently, there is rapid growth in fast food business to cater the needs of this section of people. But most of these outlets are using ingredients which are not good for children health. The main reason behind using these ingredients is, to prepare a tasty food in very short time frame. Therefore, it is believed that fast food outlets are also contributing to the overweight in young children.
In conclusion, by reviewing the facts and supporting reasons mentioned above, instead of blaming fast food outlets it is responsibility parents to take care of there children health before it gets worse. Fast food outlets always have their right to develop their business by using different business tactics. Finally, parents should always make sure of food habits for their children good healthy future.
