Hi Guys,
Could someone please validate my passage.
Hints
In a recent survey conducted in this country, it was found that up to 20% of twelve year-olds in some schools were showing early signs of nicotine addiction. In the eighteen to twenty year age bracket the percentage was as high as 70%. A large contributing factor to this high level of addiction is attributed to the uncensored TV advertising of cigarettes. For this reason all cigarette advertising should be banned.
My Passage
"Cigarette smoking is injurious to health" - Many of the young adults does not seem to be ready buying this fact. A recent survey conducted in this country shows a steady increase in the number of adolescents getting addicted to nicotine, a chemical which forms a major portion of cigerette. More alarming fact is that the same survey tells the Nicotine addiction among the young adults were as high as 70%.
Cigarettes are made from tobacco which can cause serious side effects which are Fatal. Smoking may eventually lead to Cancer. Another Major drawback with cigarette smoking is that it even affects people who do not smoke - The passive smokers. The use of tobacco after a certain level causes an addiction that will eventually endanger the life of smokers by rising health hazards like Lung Cancer. Isn't true "Bad habits are like soft beds - Easy to get in but, difficult to get out?".
Many activists and psychologists feel that this drastic increase in the number of cigarette smokers is mainly due to the fact that there is not enough awareness. Some even argue that the TV advertisement of Cigarettes should be completely Banned. Schools and colleges along with the media should play a major role in creating awareness about the hazards of cigarette smoking to children at a very early stage which will ensure the decrease in the number of smokers. Enforcing complete ban on cigarette advertising will certainly help the cause.
At the end of the day, It is a collective responsibility of the parents, schools and the media by directing the children in the right way!
