| If you are planning to use OET in Australia, you must pass all 4 sections in one go like IELTS. They changed the rules in 2007 and state medical boards will not accept exam results done in few attempts. The information on Australian OET site is misleading. Indeed, OET comission will allow to take exam in parts but it will not be accepted by medical authorities.

| They make good money on people who think that they can do exam in few attempts (that is much easier) and choose OET instead of IELTS. I talked to their Head office in Melbourne. They first were saying that you can do that. However, someone I know took the 6 weeks course in Sydney. The teachers there said that it should be in one go. Many students were shocked. Then I talked to OET office again and they admitted that this is true. They said that they will issue "a few attempts" OET certificate but it is useless because medical boards will not accept it. In fact, if you go to state medical sites, it is clearly written there: IELTS or any equivalent English exam (OET etc) "in one attempt". Definitely true for NSW, ACT, Vic. Not 100% sure for other states.
