| A few months back, (may be a year), I saw a movie in an English channel- Star movies I guess. Movie name was EXTREME MEASURES. It is a thriller about a neurologist trying to find a cure for paraplegia. Frame to frame it was exciting.I really enjoyed it.If it is shown again, don't miss it.

well..if u wanna see how a scizophrenic overcomes the disease with sheer mental toughness ...see A Beautiful Mind .
Its adifferent matter that Dr John Nash isn`t as beautiful as it has been portrayed . But then even einstein had his ugly side !

I remember few hindi movies for their decent portrayal of medical condition. They include,
1.Khamoshi ( the old one)
2.Ek Doctor Ki Maut
3. My Brother Nikhil.
Also i would recommend one recent marathi movie with english subtitles called Devraai about a schizophrenic.

Dear fellow doctors,
You all are really cool guys! Movies??
Well, I am just starting into the PG rat race after an unsuccesful bid at the Job situation in UK's NHS ( Those money grabbing B*******) But nevertheless slowly getting into the exam fever. I was quite surprised to see the recent AIIMS paper format of questions very similar to the ones asked in the MRCP Part 1 exam. Guys, the last time I wrote an Indian PG entrance was way back in 1999....so it was a pleasant surprise to see that at last indian exams have started asking clinical oriented questions instead of only useless facts and figures. .......But maybe I am applauding too soon...will let you know after i take up a paper!
Coming back to the topic, one of the recent movies i saw which i recommend to all those preparing for exams na dfeel like kicking whoever comes in front of them is....KILLBILL VOLUME 2.
Go ahead guys , kill' em

Indian PG entrance exams (ALL INDIA) has become bit more "Salgunan" / one liners / non vignette oriented over the past exam.
This year also we anticipate that the paper will have majority of one liners as otherwise in earlier year exams only 1200-1500 docs used to pass AIIMS (50 % list)
This year May AIIMS the count of those passed has risen to about 4000, and all this is because the paper was Salgunan based.
Therefore read all you want to read, BUT only AFTER you have given time to "Salgunan" or 3 Volume AMIT Gupta / Ashish Tripathi or the new CROSS series.
Basically all these new books have used the database of Salgunan and processed the MCQs a bit more, corrected mistakes etc.
Now to get back to Movies, Anyone?
