When do you start screening for cervical cancer?
A. Annually at the time they become sexually active or at the age of 18, whichever comes first.
B. Annually at the time they become sexually active or at the age of 19, whichever comes first.
C. Annually at the time they become sexually active or at the age of 20, whichever comes first.
D. Annually at the time they become sexually active or at the age of 21, whichever comes first.
E. Annually at the time they become sexually active or at the age of 85, whichever comes first.
You See a patient in-the clinic who-is sexually active at whatever age & has never had a Pap, offer it immediately. You shouldn't wait for 3 years to do that.
Never had sex _ start at age 21 annually or q2y if liquid based till age 30 Then q2y if by PAP alone, q3y if PAP-HPVDNA. Source is American Cancer Society
Sexual Hx unreliable, start screening @ 18 instead of 21. Exam considers us to be good history takers so answer is D
