Its about an alcoholic abuser having HbsAg and HbeAg positive and the question is the next best step in management. Generally I think what they would do next is a liver biopsy to assess the state of hepatic inflammation and thats what I marked like a fool forgetting that he abuses alcohol and the correct answer is "stop alcohol for 2 weeks and reassess" which I'm thinking is so that the alcohol related hepatitis subsides and the Hep B related damage remains behind to correctly assess. Is this a correct thought? or is there another reason for this answer.
